My LG Quadwash Dishwasher Review
Have I ever verbalized that my old dishwasher and I were mortal enemies? I’ve never, ever, ever, been a fan of loading the dishwasher - in fact if you were to rate it on my list of least favourite chores, it most certainly is up there with scrubbing the toilets. I don’t really know when this relationship began to crumble, I’m going to assume it was most likely when we first moved into the house. Complaining about our old dishwasher kind of became the running joke of the house, oh the things you find funny as you get older, am I right?
When LG Canada asked me to collaborate on the LG QuadWash Steam dishwasher, I’ll never forget, I was chatting with my mom on FaceTime and an e-mail popped up. I basically screamed into the phone, “ER MY GAHD MOM, a new dishwasher - A NEW DISHWASHER, what did I do to deserve such a wonderful e-mail landing in my inbox at 9:30 am on a Wednesday?” My mom’s response “Your dishwasher is the worst, I’ve been saying this since I first started visiting, my excitement level is basically as high as yours” (clearly my mom doesn’t REALLY talk like this, she’s much more fancy than me, but you get the gist.)
My new friend Jay, and Kaia’s too, because us women in the house can never stop blabbing when people enter our home, came to install this bad boy. As we (he) put it in, he looked at me and was all “This is a really great dishwasher, I’ve been installing them for a lifetime and they thought of everything with this one. All the bells and whistles.” Great Jay, now off you go so that I can do a happy dance while listening to Justin Bieber and try it out for the first time. And this my friends, is exactly what I did. Why yes, I purposely didn’t rinse, and for the fun of it put in the grossest dishes imaginable. With my old dishwasher, all of the crumbs and mess would just mesh into the bowl and make it even worse, don’t ask me why Kaia’s favourite thing in the universe is a microwaved egg, but this one was the worst, it would never, ever, come off.
So, off I went, putting 5 of Kaia’s egg dishes in the LG QuadWash Steam and yep, they looked brand spanking new. Almost better than when I bought them. WHY was this machine so glorious - what was so special about it, I needed to learn all the information about this new family member that was becoming a part of my life, and quick. Here’s what I discovered: (taken directly from LG.ca to ensure I say all the right things)
With technological advances like the Inverter Direct Drive motors and self-cleaning filtration system, LG dishwashers are among the quietest on the market.
Customized Cycles, choose from variety of cycles or Dual Zone Wash, which varies the intensity between the upper and lower racks to wash more at once.
There are four spray arms, including two Multi-Motion arms that rotate back and forth while spinning.
Cleans from multiple angles to get maximum cleaning coverage.
Confidently backed by a 10-year warranty. Due to the linear motor design which uses few moving parts for energy efficient, quiet washing.
Environmentally friendly, using less energy than required by current federal standards.
The newly-enhanced Easy Rack system provides outstanding flexibility and convenience. The newly designed bottom rack has convenient flexible features that allow for larger bowls, and even stemware.
With room for up to 15 place settings of dishes, the spacious, stainless steel interior will make you want to throw more dinner parties.
The adjustable 3rd rack can be expanded or collapsed to allow flexibility from long flatware to small espresso cups.
As always, I am here to help. If you, like me, are not a fan of anything having to do with the kitchen you’ve come to the right place. In some crazy way, and don’t ask me how, the LG has made me do a full 180. All of a sudden, I’m asking the kids to use all the plates and be as dirty as possible just so I can load the dishwasher - what is life?
