Why you need a Valco Baby - Snap Ultra Duo.
I can't be the only one that finds it awfully daunting when it comes time to purchasing all the big baby things. I remember when my Gramma offered to buy us our first stroller – I was thrilled, like beyond thrilled.
It's no secret that a stroller is at the top of your registry and also at the highest price point but if you are able to find yourself the perfect stroller then all will be worth it in the end.
Let's not name names with the first stroller that I had when Kaia was a wee little babe – just know that it didn't really work for us. We survived when she would sit in her car seat which was easily transferred to the stroller, however, when it was time to change to only the stroller, the girl was not having it. The stroller was on a constant lean and she wasn't able to see everything that she wanted to see when cruising the streets.
When I became pregnant with Theo, it was my mission to find an awesome stroller that I would love. You use your stroller so much, and I wasn't willing to half ass the process like I did with Kaia. A single stroller is hard enough, imagine my anxiety when I realized I needed to find a double stroller to love and appreciate.
Enter the Valco Baby – Snap Ultra Duo.
There are so many things that I love about this stroller I don't even know where to begin.
Let's start with the colour. I get compliments on the colour of this stroller all the time. Pushing a stroller doesn't have to be unsexy – trust me, I am working it. I don't know how I manage to feel attractive with it but I do? Weird how Motherhood changes you, amiright?
A few of my favourite features:
The large basket: My first stroller had a small compartment at the bottom that realistically could only hold one bag, MAYBE two. This was my worst nightmare. I would spend way too much time attempting to shove my box of tampons and diapers into the bottom of the stroller than I should have. The Valco has a huge basket under the stroller that lets me fit all of the things that I don't need to buy comfortably.
How easily the seats change from parent facing to outer facing: Just an easy EASY click of a button and the seat pulls right off to change to either forward facing or parent facing. This is really wonderful because Kaia can never make up her mind and when she starts to fuss about being one way I can change her in literally three seconds to the other way. It's also nice to be able to have one child facing one way and another facing the other way without any difficulty.
How quickly it can fold up: Picture me out and about with two under two trying to get my life together. I've already dropped all of Kaia's cheerios on the road and she is somehow missing one of her shoes. I do not need another struggle trying to get my stroller folded down and into the car. It's so simple to fold this bad boy up - just to prove to you that I'm not fibbing, here's a link so you can see for yourself - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4gp9YMT4Ak
The large canopy: When I was pushing Kaia around in her first stroller I always had to have her so bundled up that she looked as ridiculous as you can imagine. My absolute favourite feature of this stroller is how large the canopy is and how far it can extend. It will work in all weather conditions, it extends so far that I can't even see my child, in a wonderful way of course. It allows enough breathable room that it doesn't effect your little one and you know that they're as cozy as can be, a win win really.
The luxe boot covers: These are awesome. It looks like a bassinet, and works like a bassinet but it doesn't cause you the hassle of having to add and remove a seat, you simply slip it on and go.
How compact the stroller is: Whenever I would talk about getting a double stroller everyone was all "how will you fit through the doors?" - oh come on! Don't you think the companies have thought of this already you crazies! This stroller fits perfectly through every single space that I have tried so far and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
The 90 degree angle for her feet: Now perhaps all of your kiddies are not as high maintenance as mine are, but there is something about "not sitting up properly" that my child actually detests. Our old stroller had Kaia on a constant lean and she would always fight me on it. Another cool thing about this stroller is how easy it is to put her feet up in the sitting position or go back down to the lean.
How high up the stroller is: Kaia's convinced she's the Queen in this stroller and that's good enough for me. Being so high up somehow makes her feel more special, I can't quite explain it, I just know that it makes her sit happily.
I am very aware of how challenging it can be to head down the stroller journey, especially when there are so many different things you need to tick off your list that fits your criteria.
